What is happening, at least in Mixcraft, is that it takes too long for the computer to process the metronome sound. For instance, let’s say that the metronome sound is 25 megabytes. Well, it might take the computer a tenth of a second to process the 25 megabyte sound. As a result, you hear the “tick” a tenth of a second later. Therefore, even if you are playing exactly with the metronome, all of your music will be recorded a tenth of a second behind the actual real time.
